Question by Nickii: Removing paint from brick?
*I’m not sure where to post this so it is posted in 2 different catergories.*
We have recently bought our first home which is quite old and needs a bit of work to make it liveable (due to the previous occupants being smokers and also they must of been high when they decorated lol)
On the outside wall next to the front door they painted the house number with what looks like normal white paint (emulsion?) This looks terrible and is so big a nice number plaque will not cover it.
My question is, is there any cheap and efficient way of removing this paint without risk of it smearing and looking worse? I don’t fancy having to buy expensive chemicals in large amounts for a one off job.
All the bricks were not painted.
They just painted a big white number on the front of the house which looks dreadful and we would like to get rid of it.
No offence but the last thing i want to do is paint the outside bricks white. Think I’l go with water and scrubbing if no other answers suggest otherwise.
